Crazy Over the Top Trailer for VFW, a Wild and Bloody Thriller That Pits Vets Against an Outside Threat

We’ve got a wild trailer here for you to check out for a film called VFW. The acronym stands for Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the VWF is a community building where these particular vets are able to hang out together. In this trailer, a group of veterans are at their spot when they seem to be infiltrated by a group of bad people with nefarious intentions. Things get crazy pretty quickly, and the trailer gets pretty bloody after that.

It looks like a new take on Home Alone, like if Kevin were an aging veteran and had a lot of friends with him that know how to operate explosives. The film currently has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, which seems off, but the production quality seems solid, and there are a few familiar faces I see in the cast that I like, including Martin Kove (The Karate Kid) and George Wendt (Cheers). The film also stars Stephen Lang, William Sadler, Fred Williamson, Sierra McCormick, and David Patrick Kelly.

Here’s the synopsis:

VFW is a roll call of legends ready for one last ass-kicking tour of duty, with everything used as weapons from deer antlers to buzzsaws to flagpoles. It’s an allergic reaction to Reagan’s war on drugs that might as well be a dystopian rehash of The Warriors…If you’re into “Splatterhouse Cinema” that respects its elders and tenderizes human bodies without remorse, Joe Begos has a pile of discarded corpses waiting for you. It’s vile, slick with repugnance, and appropriately inhumane. A canon full of guts blasted straight into your face – the Fangoria way.

Check out the trailer below, and see VFW in theaters, on VOD, and Digital HD on February 14, 2020.
