CREED's Tessa Thompson Joins Marvel's THOR: RAGNAROK, Natalie Portman Leaves

Natalie Portman hasn't had much to do in the two Thor films so far, and she wasn't thrilled about Patty Jenkins being replaced by Alan Taylor as the director of Thor: The Dark World, so I suppose it isn't much of a shock to hear that she won't be coming back to reprise the role in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok. But it looks like her loss is fans' gain, because Creed star Tessa Thompson (Dear White People, Selma) is stepping in to the new movie as Thor's love interest.

Thompson isn't going to be playing Jane Foster — Deadline says she'll be "kind of a superhero" and she'll show up in other Marvel movies as well. Let the speculation begin! Will she play The Enchantress, or maybe her sister, Lorelei? Have Kevin Feige and company cast her as Thor Girl? I'm sure some scooper will get to the bottom of this soon.

The actress is set to star in Alex Garland's sci-fi film Annihilation (opposite...wait for it...Natalie Portman!), and then she'll jump into filming this sequel for director Taika Waititi. Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017. Who do you think Thompson will be playing in the film?
