Creepy Teaser Trailer for BURY THE DEVIL Unleashes a One-Long-Take Possession Nightmare

If you’re a fan of horror movies that crank up the tension and refuse to let you breathe, you’ll want to keep Bury the Devil on your radar. Blue Finch Films has dropped a seriously creepy teaser trailer for the upcoming possession thriller, and it looks like we’re in for a claustrophobic ride.

Bury the Devil unfolds in real time as a single, continuous shot. That means no cuts, no time jumps, no relief. Just one escalating nightmare from start to finish. It joins the ranks of one-take genre standouts like One Cut of the Dead, Boiling Point, and The Silent House, but this one is far more sinister.

The story centers on a nurse named Julia who arrives to care for a dementia patient and ends up locked inside the house. From there, things spiral fast.

The official synopsis reads: “When nurse Julia finds herself trapped inside of the home of her dementia patient, she begins to suspect things are not what they seem, something demonic is seeping through the cracks of this old home. Trapped and with nowhere to turn, Julia soon finds herself in battle to rid the house of this evil before it is too late.”

A deteriorating mind, a decaying house, and something evil creeping through the walls feels like the perfect storm for a possession story. The teaser keeps most of its cards close to the chest.

It’s dark, disorienting, and intentionally sparse, offering flashes of dread rather than clear answers. But that’s exactly what makes it effective. You don’t get the full picture yet, just enough to know you wouldn’t want to be stuck in that house after sunset.

The film is directed by Adam O'Brien, who previously helmed Mom in 2024. This marks his second feature, and it sounds like he’s doubling down on immersive, stripped-back horror. The screenplay comes from Brad Hodson and John Petrizzi, based on an original idea by O'Brien.

The cast features Dawn Ford, Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez, and Bill Rowat, with Ford taking on the central role of Julia. If the film pulls off its one-shot format the way it’s teasing, she’s going to be carrying a lot of emotional and physical weight on screen.

There’s no wider release date set yet, but horror fans who love inventive filmmaking and possession stories that feel up close and personal should definitely keep an eye on this one.
