Creepy Trailer For Stephen King's New Netflix Film IN THE TALL GRASS Descends Into Madness

“Some places have a mind of their own.”

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for their Stephen King and Joe Hill horror thriller, In The Tall Grass. The movie was written and directed by Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice), and it looks creepy as hell as a group of people get trapped in field of tall grass and descend into madness.

The movie stars Harrison Gilbertson, Laysla De Oliveira, Avery Whitted, Will Buie Jr., Rachel Wilson, and Patrick Wilson. Here’s the synopsis that was shared:

When siblings Becky and Cal hear the cries of a young boy lost within a field of tall grass, they venture in to rescue him, only to become ensnared themselves by a sinister force that quickly disorients and separates them. Cut off from the world and unable to escape the field’s tightening grip, they soon discover that the only thing worse than getting lost is being found.

When previously talking about the film with Decider, Natali said, “[The film] contains the most shocking thing in that story—which, if anyone’s read it, they will know exactly what I’m speaking of. We don’t pull punches.”

That’s great to hear! When the project was first announced the filmmaker had this to say in a statement, “Who would think that grass could be frightening? Trust Stephen King and Joe Hill to find a way. They have transformed an otherwise innocuous Kansas field into a stage for some of the most disturbing horror fiction I have ever read.”

This is certainly an insane story and I’m excited to see how Natali brings it to life! It will be released on Netflix on October 4th.

"Some places have a mind of their own. Based on the novella by Stephen King and Joe Hill, when siblings Becky and Cal hear the cries of a young boy lost within a field of tall grass, they venture in to rescue him, only to become ensnared themselves by a sinister force that quickly disorients and separates them.
