Creepy Trailer For The Horror Film DEAR DAVID, Which is Inspired By Actual Events
Lionsgate has released a trailer for Dear David trailer for its upcoming film adaptation of former Buzzfeed employee’s viral social media ghost story.
Ellis shared the ghost story over Twitter in August 2017 “centering on a dead boy who was haunting him and following him around. The story went viral over the course of several months, with Ellis amassing over one million followers.”
In the film: “Shortly after comic artist Adam responds to Internet trolls, he begins experiencing sleep paralysis — while an empty rocking chair moves in the corner of his apartment. As he chronicles increasingly malevolent occurrences in a series of tweets, Adam begins to believe he is being haunted by the ghost of a dead child named David. Encouraged by his boss to continue the ‘Dear David’ thread, Adam starts to lose his grip on what is online…and what is real.”
Dear David is directed by John McPhail (Anna and the Apocalypse) from a screenplay written by Mike Van Waes. The movie stars Augustus Prew as Adam, Justin Long as Bryce, Andrea Bang as Evelyn, Rachel Wilson as Linda, Ethan Hwang as James, Tricia Black as Norris, René Escobar Jr. as Kyle Sanchez, Rachel Risen as Olive, and more.
