Creepy Trailer for the James Wan-Produced Horror Thriller LIGHTS OUT

Over the weekend at WonderCon, producer James Wan unveiled the first trailer for a great looking new horror thriller called Lights Out. It is based on a short film of the same name that was released in 2014. The short went viral and producer Lawrence Grey contacted director David F. Sandberg and told him they wanted him to adapt it into a feature film. They brought Wan on board to help in the process, and it looks like they came up with something incredibly fun, creepy, and inventive.

The movie stars Teresa Palmer, Gabriel Bateman, Alexander DiPersia, Billy Burke, and Maria Bello, who plays a mother with an eerie imaginary friend. The director explained that usually in horror films it's the kids with the creepy imaginary friends. So the fact that in this movie it's the mom, and her kids are put in the situation where they have to deal with that kind of craziness is refreshingly unique. Here's the synopsis:

A tale of an unknown terror that lurks in the dark. When Rebecca left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn’t real when the lights went out…and now her little brother, Martin, is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie, has reemerged. But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger…once the lights go out.

Lights Out is set to be released on July 22nd, and if you're a fan of the horror genre, you won't want to miss out on this.
