Creepy Trailer for the Sam Raimi-Produced Horror Film THE UNHOLY with Jeffrey Dean Morgan
"When God builds a church, the devil builds a chapel next door."
Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for its upcoming horror-thriller The Unholy. The movie comes from producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, and it was directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos. Spiliotopoulos is best known for his writing work on films such as Battle for Terra, Hercules, The Huntsman: Winter's War, Beauty and the Beast, and Charlie's Angels. This is his first time directing a film.
The movie is based on the James Herbert book Shrine, and it looks like it’ll be an entertaining and creepy horror movie. It has a great cast that includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Cary Elwes, William Sadler, Katie Aselton, and Christine Adams.
The story follows Alice, “a young hearing-impaired girl who, after a supposed visitation from the Virgin Mary, is inexplicably able to hear, speak and heal the sick. As word spreads and people from near and far flock to witness her miracles, a disgraced journalist (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) hoping to revive his career visits the small New England town to investigate. When terrifying events begin to happen all around, he starts to question if these phenomena are the works of the Virgin Mary or something much more sinister.”
Sony Pictures will release The Unholy in theaters starting April 2nd, just in time for Easter! The perfect time to release a religious horror movie!
