CRIMINAL MINDS: EVOLUTION Renewed for Season 20 as Paramount+ Reveals Season 19 Preview and Premiere Date
Criminal Minds: Evolution is officially coming back for Season 20, and that news hits before Season 19 has even premiered. Paramount+ is clearly confident the BAU still has plenty of dark corners left to explore.
Season 19 of Criminal Minds: Evolution is set to debut on May 28 on Paramount+, with new episodes rolling out weekly. That gives fans a steady stream of cases to dig into as the story unfolds.
Looking a bit further ahead, Season 20 is already slated to arrive in 2027, which means this revival isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
The series continues the story of the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, a group described as “a team of profilers tasked with analyzing and capturing the country’s most dangerous criminals, before they strike again.”
The revival builds on the foundation laid by the original Criminal Minds, which ran for 15 seasons on CBS and became a staple for crime drama fans.
Season 19 brings back a solid lineup of familiar faces, including Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Zach Gilford, and RJ Hatanaka, alongside Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster.
On top of that, the guest star roster is packed with talent. Viewers can expect appearances from Connor Storrie (Heated Rivalry), Justin Kirk (Angels in America), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Clark Gregg (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Paul F. Tompkins (Bojack Horseman), Cress Williams (Black Lightning), Kofi Siriboe (Queen Sugar), Lyndon Smith (Step Sisters), Richard Cabral (Mayans MC), Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager), Rob Yang (The Menu), Nicholas Gonzalez (The Good Doctor), Inny Clemons (Judging Amy), Nicole Pacent (Westworld), Dash Mihok (Ray Donovan), Joseph Cross (Big Little Lies), and Cara Jade Myers (Killers of the Flower Moon). That mix of performers hints at a season full of memorable characters and intense encounters.
Paramount+ also dropped a first-look clip from Season 19, giving fans a quick taste of what’s coming next. While it only teases the story, it’s enough to remind viewers why this series still hits so well after all these years.
Behind the scenes, the show continues under the guidance of showrunner and executive producer Erica Messer, with Breen Frazier, Chris Barbour, Glenn Kershaw, and Mark Gordon also executive producing. The series is produced by 20th Television and CBS Studios.
With a new season right around the corner and another already confirmed, Criminal Minds: Evolution is proving it still has the edge that made the original series such a hit.
