CRIMINAL MINDS Revival Series Ordered by Paramount+ with Original Cast Members and Showrunner
Paramount+ has ordered a 10-episode revival of Criminal Minds, which will bring back six of the fan-favorite cast members including Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler and Paget Brewster.
The project will also be developed by longtime executive producer and showrunner of the series Erica Messer. So for those of you who enjoyed the series while it was originally on the air, there’s no doubt you’ll be excited about this.
Missing from the original cast are Matthew Gray Gubler, who has moved on after playing Spencer Reid for 15 years, and Daniel Henney, who stars in The Wheel Of Time.
The original series, created by Jeff Davis, follows “a group of criminal profilers who work for the FBI as members of its Behavioral Analysis Unit, using behavioral analysis and profiling to investigate crimes and find perpetrators. The group is led by Senior Agent David Rossi (Mantegna) and includes Agents JJ Jareau (Cook), Tara Lewis (Tyler) and Luke Alvez (Rodriguez) as well as Technical Analyst Penelope Garcia (Vangsness) and Unit Chief Emily Prentiss (Brewster).”
I finished watching the series about a month ago on Netflix. It wasn’t the greatest show, but I still enjoyed the entertainment it offered. Some aspects of the series were so ridiculous, but whatever, it was fun.
If this initial revival does well, you can bet that there will be more new seasons.
