First Reactions For MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART ONE Praise the Action and Hayley Atwell's Performance
This week marked the premiere of the latest Tom Cruise-led action sequel, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, where the cast and crew assembled in Rome, with stars meeting fans at the Spanish Steps by Piazza di Spagna. The film, which had been pushed back quite a bit after being confronted with pandemic roadblocks, seems to have been worth the wait as the first reviews are glowing.
The sequel, directed by franchise helmer Christopher McQuarrie, sees Cruise’s “Ethan Hunt and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan's past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.”
The movie also stars Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny along with newcomers Shea Whigham (Joker), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War) and Esai Morales (La Bamba, Titans), Charles Parnell, Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Mark Gatiss, and Cary Elwes (Saw). Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Janet McTeer (Tumbleweeds, Albert Nobbs), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), and Holt McCallany (Mindhunter, Nightmare Alley).
Check out the first reviews of the film, which overwhelmingly point to the film being a super exciting action-packed blast, and also highlight the performance of franchise newcomer Hayley Atwell, who you know as Peggy Carter from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Part Two will be released, respectively, on July 12th, 2023, and June 28th, 2024.
