CRITICAL ROLE and DUNGOENS & DRAGONS Team Up to Release EXPLORER'S GUIDE TO WILDEMOUNT

Well, this is exciting. The other day, Dungeons & Dragons and Critical Role announced Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount. This is a new sourcebook for the famous tabletop RPG (along with four introductory adventures) based on the continent of Wildemount which Critters (fans of Critical Role) will be familiar with as the land of the Mighty Nein campaign. Matt Mercer, the CCO and DM for Critical Role, served as the lead writer for the 304-page book and he released the following statement:

I’m sincerely so honored and excited to be working directly with Chris Perkins and this team of talented D&D writers and designers to bring this book to not just our community, but to D&D players everywhere. Dungeons & Dragons has had such a massive, positive impact on nearly my entire life, and I am ever inspired by the endless creativity I see it spark in so many others across the world. To have been able to work with Wizards of the Coast to bring my world to life as an official campaign book is nothing short of surreal. I can’t wait to see what other DMs and players create within my world to make it their own!

Inside Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount, players and Dungeon Masters will find descriptions of the major factions in play, a Wildemount gazetteer, new player options including subclasses and spells, new magic items, and new creatures. In addition, James Haeck teased a new system called Heroic Chronicle over on Twitter.

This book is designed to be great for Critters and non-Critters alike who want to play D&D and maybe explore new lands or introduce new features into their own games. You can hear Mercer talk about the new book a little in this video with Todd Kenreck:
