CRITICAL ROLE to Launch First Board Game UK'OTOA Through Darrington Press This Month
Critical Role’s publishing arm Darrington Press has revealed that the first board game from the company, Uk’otoa, will release on May 27. The board game was created by Jeb Havens with additional design by Gabriel Hicks, art by Hannah Friederichs, Uk’otoa Sculpt by Niklas Norman, and layout by Vee Hendro. In the game, you and your friends will be aboard a single ship and have to survive after the mighty Uk’otoa is unleashed. The game is a tactical semi-cooperative game and is sure to be a must-have for Critters. I personally love the terrified meeples.
In this tactical semi-coop board game, all players are aboard a single ship which is being sunk by the monstrous beast known as Uk’otoa. Sailors flee, push, and sacrifice each other in order to escape its terrible tentacles and maw to be the last claimed by the raging sea leviathan. Worshipped by sailors, pirates, and other seafarers, Uk’otoa has finally escaped his prison and is wreaking havoc in the Lucidian Ocean! He is risen, and he is hungry.
You can play Uk’otoa on May 27 and grab copies from Darrington Press Guild stores and Critical Role’s storefronts (US, UK, CA, and AU). The game will launch to additional local game stores at a later time. Oh, and Taliesin Jaffe and Dani Carr wrote a sea shanty.
