Crunchyroll Acquires New Korean Animated Series BASTIONS Featuring New Music from BTS

Crunchyroll recently announced they acquired the new Korean animated series Bastions and will start airing the series this Saturday, May 13. The series blends superhero stories, 3D animation, and K-pop including international stars BTS! Bastions comes from Thymos Media and will feature 5 episodes following some rookie superheroes on their journey to become more popular. The series will have several original K-pop songs with the theme song courtesy of BTS and additional songs by Heize and AleXa among others.

These unconventional heroes are gearing up to prevent disaster! In a world where superpowers are the norm, a group of beloved idols work together to keep society safe. But they’re about to face a new enemy: Wash Green. This megacorporation may call itself eco-friendly, but it’s really the leader in environmental pollution. Can Bastions persevere and save the planet?

Talking about bringing Bastions to Crunchyroll, Asa Suehira of Crunchyroll shared:

Crunchyroll has an extraordinary opportunity to introduce fans to more animation styles from Asia, and this exciting new series from Korea does just that. And having the music of so many K-pop stars really broadens the appeal of BASTIONS.

Thymos Media, the studio behind the series, added:

BTS is expected to provide an overwhelming sense of immersion to the emotions and action scenes of the series by singing the theme song in perfect harmony.

This could be fun to watch. K-pop’s pretty popular these days so I’m sure many fans are pumped for Bastions to launch on Crunchyroll on May 13.
