Crunchyroll Gets Ready for a Bloodbath With New CHAINSAW MAN Anime

Crunchyroll has announced they have acquired the streaming rights to the hotly anticipated Chainsaw Man. Rolling out on simulcast from Japan later this year subbed and dubbed to 200 countries and territories, dub languages will include English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, and German. Here’s the official synopsis of the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto that the show is based on:

Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.

One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as "Chainsaw Man"--a man with a devil's heart.

They have also released a teaser trailer, and as you might expect from the name and premise, it gets bloody. I’m not a personal fan of the over the top violent and bloody anime, but if that doesn’t bother you then you should definitely check this one out. The world sounds really intriguing, not only do devils exist, but they are made manifest by the collective fears of humans. That’s a world that has a lot of potential for some really cool stories. No release date yet, but it has been announced to be coming out later this year. Go ahead and check out the trailer below.
