CRYPT OF THE NECRODANCER: SYNCHRONY DLC Enters Early Access and Brings Mod Support to the Game
Crypt of the NecroDancer is a really fun game and a new DLC is now available in Early Access. The DLC is titled SYNCHRONY and it brings a ton of changes. With the DLC, developer Brace Yourself Games has opened up full mod support for most aspects of the game through mod.io. Madeleine Gray of Brace Yourself Games explains that it was perfect as SYNCHRONY was originally a fan-made mod from Vortex Buffer.
Modding has been a big part of our community for a long time – in fact, the Crypt of the NecroDancer: SYNCHRONY DLC started off as a community mod. We thought that the creators, who are now known as Vortex Buffer, were so awesome that we decided to work with them to make SYNCHRONY an official DLC.
Vortex Buffer and modders in general have made Crypt of the NecroDancer better than we ever thought it could be. With mod.io making modding easier and more accessible than ever, we've seen a huge influx of modded content in just the last few weeks alone, and we can't wait to see what mods people make in the future.
Here’s the list of mod features included with SYNCHRONY:
Full mod support via an extensive ‘Lua’ modding API
Event-driven game code, allowing most gameplay events to be intercepted and handled by mods
Full live-reloading: mods can be edited and the changes seen in real-time
Mods can be loaded and unloaded in the middle of a run
Ability to load multiple Lua mods at the same time
Automatic multiplayer compatibility for most (deterministic) gameplay mods.
