CUPHEAD DLC is Delayed Until 2020 to Improve Game and Developor Practices

Cuphead is a very popular game that just saw its release on the Nintendo Switch. Well, fans have been waiting for a long time to play the DLC Delicious Last Course. It turns out that fans will have to continue waiting. The DLC expansion is now being released in 2020 with the developers deciding that they want to make sure the game is up to snuff as well as improving their development practices. Co-director Chad Moldenhauer said in a statement:

While we initially announced a 2019 release date for the ‘Delicious Last Course’ expansion, our highest priority is making sure this new adventure meets the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for,” said the game’s co-director Chad Moldenhauer in a statement about the delay. “We want to be absolutely certain that this next adventure feels at home in the world of Cuphead and is full of moments that surprise and delight players.

Furthermore, the development of the original game taught us a great deal about the importance of making things in a way that’s healthy and sustainable for our team.

This wasn’t an easy decision to make, but we’re confident it’s one that will result in a higher quality experience that’s all the sweeter when it does arrive.

In theory, this means that fans will be treated to a much better experience and so will the developers. I feel like the industry has been talking a lot more lately about conditions for the developers and I support them getting healthier situations. Are you upset that you have to wait until 2020 for the Delicious Last Course? Check out the trailer for the DLC below.
