Cybershoes is Releasing Wireless Versions Later This Year

Virtual Reality or VR is a growing market for gaming still and Cybershoes are looking to improve the user experience. Many users complain about motion sickness when they play VR games as the movement tends to be much smoother than a natural experience. Cybershoes are coming out with wireless versions that will hopefully create a more natural movement experience in VR games. You actually attach the peripheral to your feet and sit in a chair and actually move your feet. Michael Bieglmayer, CEO of Cybershoes, said:

Movement and locomotion has been a consistent issue in VR gaming. The main movement mechanics available today – smooth movement via joystick or teleportation – can be jarring and lead to motion sickness. By translating natural movement to in game motion, Cybershoes addresses motion sickness while increasing immersion, activity, and enjoyment.

Cybershoes is currently working with Vertigo Games to incorporate their product into Arizona Sunshine. In addition, they’ve released a Software Development Kit and are looking for more developers to work with. Richard Stitselaar of Vertigo Games has said:

It is one of our core values to allow players to fully customize their preferred way to play. We have a few people in our office who are sensitive to motion sickness so we take comfort very seriously. Arizona Sunshine already supports a wide range of comfort options and Cybershoes provides an intuitive way to bring the player’s physical motion into the game, allowing our players to experience VR however they like.

A new Kickstarter will launch later this year for the wireless version of Cybershoes. It should be noted that the product is designed for Oculus Quest and Quest 2 headsets. Are you excited to try them out?
