Cybershoes Now Available for Oculus Quest and Quest 2

If you’re into virtual reality, you may be feeling like you’re lacking something. A few months ago, I talked about Cybershoes which let you walk in VR while you sit in a chair and don’t blindly walk into a wall or someone else. This is also supposed to help individuals who suffer from motion sickness while playing. Now, Cybershoes are back with new models designed to work with the Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2. That means you can enjoy the great feel of Cybershoes and VR without the need for a fancy VR computer. In addition, Cybershoes now offers full integration with Doom3Quest!

Connecting wirelessly via the CyQuest Bluetooth receiver, Cybershoes for Quest translates native body motion into in-game locomotion. This helps address one of the biggest complaints about VR, motion sickness, while increasing immersion, physical activity, and enjoyment. With natively integrated games, like Arizona Sunshine in partnership with Vertigo Games, Journey of the Gods, and now Doom3Quest, setup is as simple as putting on Cybershoes, starting up the headset, and selecting the in-game Cybershoes locomotion option.

You can find a full list of supported games on the official site and grab your own set through their Indiegogo campaign. CEO Michael Bieglmayer said:

We’re absolutely thrilled with how many people have supported our vision of providing new, intuitive locomotion capabilities to the Oculus Quest and Quest 2,” said Michael Bieglmayer, CEO of Cybershoes. “We can’t wait until our backers are able to get their hands, or feet, on the product and feel what it’s like to use their natural body movements to navigate a doomed research facility on Mars and experience Doom3Quest in VR. Thanks to Team Beef’s support of Cybershoes, slaying evil demons, pulverizing zombies and squashing Hell’s attempt to take over the earth has never felt more immersive.

What do you think of Cybershoes? Are they the way to go?
