Cynthia Erivo Reveals Her Next Dream Role Is Storm in the MCU's X-MEN

Two-time Academy Award nominee Cynthia Erivo has always had an impressive ability to captivate in any role she takes on, but that has never been more apparent than in the last couple of months as we saw her take on the role of Elphaba in the mega hit musical Wicked.

Now with that role under her belt, some fans have wondered what she would take on next, and many have talked about her joining the MCU, with some fan-casting her in the role of Storm.

Erivo not only agrees with that casting, but has revealed that she absolutely wants to take it on. Speaking to the National Board of Review, Erivo was asked to manifest a character that she’d like to play in the future.

Erivo said that X-Men’s Storm is the next character she would like to portray. She went on to talk about the depth that she believes Storm has as a character, which is a large part of what attracts her to the role.

“I really want to play Storm. I know it sounds frivolous but I don’t think we’ve uncovered how grand she is and all of the inner turmoil that she has. So I think there’s a world in which we could do something like that.”

This is probably the perfect time for Erivo to make her casting desires known. We are gearing up for Marvel’s relaunch of the X-Men at some point in the next few years, and I think Erivo would be excellent in the role.
