Daft Punk Will Score Dario Argento's New Film BLACK GLASSES

Suspiria director Dario Argento is prepping to direct a new film titled Black Glasses, and he has hired Daft Punk to score it. Argento has made a slew of Italian horror, psychological, and crime thrillers in his long career. I really like a lot of his earlier work, but I haven’t really cared much for his recent films.

During a recent interview with Repubblica, Argento explained that Daft Punk reached out to him about being involved with his next project. He said:

“They are my admirers, they know all my cinema. They heard from French friends that I was shooting a new film and called me [to say], ‘We want to work with you.’

Argento says that they will be sending him the first tracks soon and make a visit to Rome when it’s possible to travel. According to the report, Daft Punk says Argento’s script is one of his “most interesting.” As for the story that the film will tell, the filmmaker explained:

“It will be my return to crime films. It’s the adventure, in the nocturnal Rome, of a Chinese girl and child. In the second part, the escape takes them into the rocky, bushy countryside of Lazio. [It’s] different from the sweetness of the Tuscan valleys, but for me beautiful.”

I hope the movie is good, but even if it’s not, at least we know that soundtrack is going to be awesome! This will be Daft Punk’s first music made and released since their 2013 album Random Access Memories. This will be their first movie soundtrack since 2010’s Tron, which was an incredible soundtrack!
