Daisy Ridley Joins James Corden and Rose Byrne in Live-Action/Animated PETER RABBIT Movie

I'd somehow missed the news that Sony was making a live-action/animated hybrid Peter Rabbit film with late night host James Corden voicing the title character. But Variety reports that Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley has joined the cast along with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 actress Elizabeth Debicki.

Will Gluck (Easy A, Friends with Benefits) is directing, and Animal Logic — the studio responsible for the visual effects in The LEGO Movie — will handle the animation elements of this film. There's no word on whether Ridley and Debicki are playing live action characters, or if they'll provide voices for other animated characters. In the Peter Rabbit stories, the mischievous Peter has three sisters — Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail — so it's possible that the actresses could be voicing two of those characters here. We do know that Rose Byrne is playing the live-action female lead, whose name is Bea (perhaps Beatrix Potter, the author of the original Peter Rabbit stories?). Production starts in January 2017 and the movie is set to come out in April of 2018.
