Daisy Ridley on "Darth Rey" and One Scene In STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER That Left the Entire Crew Shaken

Star Wars seems to have this power to draw emotion from its biggest and most loyal fans. Certain events in this franchise have brought fans to tears over the years. While not all fans feel this way these days, there are still a lot of them that do love this franchise that have enjoyed the films that have been released under the Disney banner.

Well, Daisy Ridley recently teased a moment in the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, that left the crew visibly moved and shaken. She explains in an interview with Adoro Cinema:

“There was a scene that touched me a lot. It was our last day shooting in Jordan and the natural light was fading. And it was so exciting. It was just a short scene, we filmed very fast, but the crew was shaken in a way I had not seen before. And I thought, 'My God, if this is people's immediate reaction when the scene isn't even ready, imagine what it will be like to see it in the movies, with the John Williams soundtrack and all that.'”

Obviously, she doesn’t reveal what the scene entails, but I can’t wait to see what she’s talking about! The Rise of Skywalker will bring a close to the Skywalker saga and “take viewers on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, where new legends will be born and the final battle for freedom is yet to come.”

In a separate interview with Total Film/Games Radar, Ridley, also talked about the characters possible turn to the dark side, saying:

“It’s fucking awesome. I already had an amazing emotional story. But, when [Darth Rey] was pitched, I was like, ‘That sounds amazing.’ It’s fun to do something a bit different.”

Asked whether people will be shocked by Rey’s arc in The Rise of Skywalker, she replied:

“The whole of Star Wars is about good and evil. With every character, you see some struggle. So, in a way, no. Because it’s the most human thing to see someone struggle with two things within them that are pulling them both ways. If you understand why someone is going on the journey, you will be on the journey regardless. So, hopefully, you’re shocked in a fun way, but you’re also emotionally with her.”

I really hope that Abrams delivers an ending that’s going to make fans happy. The film also stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Domhnall Gleeson, Richard E. Grant, Lupita Nyong’o, Keri Russell, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran, with Ian McDiarmid and the great Billy Dee Williams.

The movie hits theaters on December 20th and I’ve already got my tickets!
