Damian Lewis Is Set to Return to BILLIONS in Season 7
Damian Lewis was one of the best parts of Showtime’s Billions in the role of Bobby Axelrod. He was the anchor of the show! A lot of fans weren’t happy when he ended up leaving the series at the end of Season 5, and when he left the show just wasn’t the same, the energy he brought to it was awesome, and when the show lost that energy, in my opinion, the show just wasn’t as good.
It’s understandable as to why he stepped away from the series at the time, though. He left in 2021 following the death of his wife, actor Helen McCrory.
But, Lewis will be coming back to the series in Season 7. He will appear in six of the 12 episodes of Billions that are set to air next season. It’ll be refreshing to see him back in action and it’ll be interesting to see what the next chapter of his story will bring.
In the seventh season, “alliances are turned on their heads. Old wounds are weaponized. Loyalties are tested. Betrayal takes on epic proportions. Enemies become wary friends. And Bobby Axelrod returns, as the stakes grow from Wall Street to the world.”
The door was left open for Lewis to return and it’s exciting to see that this character is going to be back. Lewis will reunite with Paul Giamatti, Corey Stoll, and Maggie Siff and the show is currently in production in New York. Billions also stars David Costabile, Asia Kate Dillon, Condola Rashad, Jeffrey DeMunn, Sakina Jaffrey and Daniel Breaker.
Billions comes from creators, executive producers, and showrunners Brian Koppelman and David Levien. Beth Schacter also serves as showrunner and executive producer. The series was also created by Andrew Ross Sorkin.
Four new Billions spinoff series are also in the works and they include Billions: Miami set in the world of private aviation; Billions: London, set in the world of U.K. finance; Millions, featuring diverse, 30-something, financial mogul wannabes in Manhattan; and Trillions, based on fictional stories of the richest people in the world.
