D&D Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden Dice & Miscellany is Out Now

Today, Dungeons & Dragons launches Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden Dice & Miscellany. This is an optional set of accessories for D&D players themed around the latest adventure, Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden. This set of accessories includes 11 dice including 4 slightly oversized six-sided dice, a foldout map of Icewind Dale and Ten-Towns, a felt-lined box for you to store everything and role the dice, and 20 double-sided cards full of lore about creatures you’ll find. It’s pretty standard and Wizards of the Coast was kind enough to send me one.

If you’re wondering if you should purchase these accessories, it’s a hard maybe. In all honesty, the dice, box, and map are very nice and useful. I’m glad they didn’t make the d20s oversized this time (although they’ll be available in December in the Drizzt & Guenhwyvar Figure Pack), but the dice still feel kind of cheap.

The box, while made of cardboard, is sturdy and usable in place of more expensive alternatives (although Dungeon Box is still my top pick if you’ve got more of a budget). The creature lore cards are cool, but definitely not necessary and I’m sure many players will end up not really using them. All of this is available for the price tag of $29.99. If it were $5 cheaper, it’d be a softer maybe and definitely more enticing, but really, the best price in my opinion would be $19.99.

You can purchase your set of Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden Dice and Miscellany from your local game store or places like Amazon.
