D&D Is Releasing the ESSENTIALS KIT Which Sounds Perfect for Potential New Players
One of the announcements at D&D Live 2019: The Descent was a new Starter Set. Well, a new and improved Starter Set. Dungeons & Dragons is releasing the Essentials Kit that has everything needed to give the popular tabletop RPG a try. For $25 players will get a simplified rulebook to help teach character creation, rules for a 1-on-1 variant designed by Chris Perkins, a DM Screen, one set of dice, and extra 20-sided die for advantage and disadvantage rolls, and four 6-sided dice for rolling Attributes. Oh, and a new adventure is included called Dragon of Icespire Peak, complete with a map. One more thing that makes this awesome is that there’s a box of cards for magic items, sidekicks, rule reminders, and more.
This sounds like an amazing way to be introduced to Dungeons & Dragons. I’m especially excited to see how this 1-on-1 variant works.
The Essentials Kit will be available at Target on June 24 and everywhere else on September 3.
