Dan Harmon and Warner Bros. Have Discussed a RICK AND MORTY "Super Episode" Movie
Over the years, Rick and Morty fans have wondered if we would ever see a movie. The Simpsons, South Park, and Bob’s Burgers have all done it, why not Rick and Morty? Well, it turns out that co-creator Dan Harmon and Warner Bros. have actually discussed making a Rick and Morty movie!
In a recent profile in THR, it’s revealed that before the WGA strike, Harmon had a "serious conversation" with the WB executives about a full-length Rick and Morty feature film, and “They were all aligned on a kind of ‘super episode’ conceit, the way that Matt Stone and Trey Parker approached the South Park movie years ago.”
Series showrunner Scott Marder admitted in 2021 that he thinks the movie will happen one day saying: "I do think it’ll happen, I do. It’d be daunting. I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s one that comes down the pipe someday I feel like every episode is a movie. It’d have to be pretty epic."
Not long after that, Zack Snyder, who plays Fortnite as Mr. Meeseeks, said he'd be open to directing a Rick and Morty movie. He said: "I don't have like a straight comedy that I can think, you know, that's like wall to wall straight comedy. If I did the Rick and Morty Movie that's probably about the closest I'd get."
I actually wouldn’t be surprised if a Rick and Morty movie was made one day. I would be surprised if Snyder ended up directing it, though!
