Dan Harmon May Have Leaked a DOCTOR STRANGE Spoiler

Take this with a grain of salt, but there's a chance writer Dan Harmon may have leaked a spoiler for Marvel Studios' upcoming film Doctor Strange. If you don't want to know what that spoiler could be, it's best to turn back now.

As you know, word broke last week that Harmon was brought on to write some scenes for "additional photography" for the movie, presumably to add some more humor to the screenplay (that assumption takes Harmon's past writing work into account). This could be anything from a post-credits sequence to a script-wide punch-up that could provide the basis for Marvel Studios' built-in reshoots process, but now there's word that Harmon may have leaked a big reveal about the true villain of the new movie.

Ready? Deep breath: CinemaBlend pointed to a Reddit thread which revealed a screengrab from Harmon's computer from his Harmontown presentation at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, and in his recent files on Final Draft, there is a document called "Strange Confronts Dormammu." That character is one of Doctor Strange's biggest adversaries in the comics, and though he was rumored to be one of the villains early on, we haven't seen or heard anything concrete about his appearance in the movie. (Mads Mikkelsen is playing a character named Kaecilius, who is a disciple of Chiwetel Ejiofor's Baron Mordo in the comics.)

Could this actually be a scene in the film? It's possible, but it's also possible that A) the scene ends up on the cutting room floor, or B) it's an elaborate misdirect by Harmon to give fans something to talk about. I find the latter choice slightly unlikely (especially since this was before we even knew he was working on Doctor Strange at all), but in any case, we may end up seeing the flame-headed Lord of the Dark Dimension on the big screen this November after all.
