Dan Harmon Says The COMMUNITY Movie is Still Going to Happen

If any of you Community fans are still hoping that we will see a movie get made, the answer is yes. We've all been wondering if the “six seasons and a movie” would finally come to fruition, and now that we've got the six seasons all we need is that movie!

Creator Dan Harmon recently talked with The Wrap about the film and he reveales that he's working with producers Justin Lin, and Joe and Anthony Russo to make it happen.

“I keep having conversations with the kinds of people that could make it happen. The Russo brothers moved from ‘Community’ to becoming industry shapers. So did one of our most popular directors, Justin Lin, who directed the first paintball episode.”

He went on to say that Justin Lin is one who is very excited about making the movie happen. Harmon says that Lin, who has directed three episodes of the series, "has always been jazzed about the idea of doing a ‘Community’ movie.” As you know, he has since directed several films in the Fast and Furious franchise along with Star Trek: Beyond. Harmon went on to say:

“I hope I’m not talking out of school by saying that. I’ll get together with him every once in a while, or we’ll have dinner, and we’re talking — we keep trying to figure out how to do this.”
“Those are the kinds of guys, the Russos, plus Justin, plus a humble little me — maybe there is a way to secure the money and the momentum to make something happen. But fingers crossed — don’t want to jinx it.”

According to Joel McHale, the original cast of Community would all be up for returning to make a movie if it happens with a script written by Harmon. With the talent and fanbase supporting this film, I don't see how it can't happen. I have faith that it will.
