Dan Stevens Will Return For Legendary's GODZILLA X KONG Sequel

Dan Stevens, who played Trapper in Legendary’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, is in negotiations to reprise his role for the upcoming Godzilla x Kong sequel, which is being directed by Grant Sputore (I Am Mother).

Stevens is a great actor, but even he wasn’t able to make the last Godzilla x Kong movie any better. There are audeinces that did like the film, though, and I’m sure they’ll be happy to see the actor return.

Stevens will join Kaitlyn Dever, who is a new addition to the franchise. Stevens’ Trapper is first introduced in the franchise to do dental work on Kong by replacing an infected tooth. He’s laidback veterinarian who finds himself on an expedition into Hollow Earth, which is the home to massive monstrous creatures.

While plot details have not be revealed, Legendary has said the story will feature “several new human characters alongside the beloved and iconic Titans Godzilla and Kong as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.”

Dave Callaham wrote the script. I hope this next movie will finally deliver a good Godzilla and Kong film, but so far I haven’t been impressed.

This year, Stevens will be seen in in the Netflix series Zero Day, and the 20th Century Studios’ drama Swiped, which is based on the founder of dating site Bumble. Then there’s AMC’s horror series The Terror: Devil in Silver.

He also recently wrapped on the A24 action thriller Onslaught, which was directed by Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’s Adam Wingard.
