Danai Gurira's Michonne Rumored to Return to THE WALKING DEAD in Season 12

The Walking Dead had some major changes in the last couple of seasons, namely the disappearance and assumed death of main character Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, and the character Maggie (Lauren Cohan) leaving the series under a mysterious storyline, then returning in the Season 10 finale, which we are still waiting to see.

Then we dealt with Michonne, played by Danai Gurira, taking off in the 10th season to find out what happened to Rick. When she left, we figured we would see her return, as the warrior character left behind her two kids, and promised to return with answers. She even said as much when she appeared on the Chris Hardwick-hosted after-show, The Talking Dead.

Now, according to a report from We Got This Covered, a notable source has told the outlet that Gurira “will be back full-time in Season 12.” We don’t know exactly how this will play out, with the 11th season running parallel to the opening of the spin-off series The Walking Dead: World Beyond, which is said to run for two seasons and feed into the Rick Grimes storyline.

It will be interesting to see how it will all unfold, as it sounds like the creators and writers have a master plan that will all become clear in the upcoming seasons. I’m excited to see what happens in the series, and I can’t wait to hear more this Friday in the three Walking Dead panels that will air on Comic-Con@Home. Are you looking forward to everything coming up in the Walking Dead universe?
