Dane DeHaan Says His Version of Green Goblin Will Not Be in SPIDER-MAN 3

Apparently, there have been rumors going around that Dane DeHaan’s Green Goblin from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 might be showing up in Spider-Man 3. But, according to the actor, there’s no truth to those rumors. He was asked about the rumors in an interview with RadioTimes, and this was his reply:

"There’s no truth to those rumors. I don’t even know how that would be pulled off."

He obviously isn’t paying attention to what is going on with what Marvel Studios is looking to do with the multiverse. The actor went on to say:

"I would certainly love to make some kind of movie like that again. I like making superhero movies or in that kind of world and I’m sure I’ll find myself in that world again. And I have no idea what they’re doing with the Spider-Man movies now, but I don’t really understand a world in which that would be possible."

I personally never cared for DeHaan’s version of Green Goblin, so I’m fine with him not appearing in Spider-Man 3. That’s one character that I don’t need to see again.

Tom Holland will be joined in the film by Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Andrew Garfield as his version of Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire is also said to be returning, Kirsten Dunst will return as Mary Jane Watson, and Emma Stone could “reprise her role as Gwen Stacy, pregnancy permitting.” There’s also Jamie Foxx coming back as Electro and Alfred Molina coming back as Doctor Octopus.

Spider-Man 3 is being directed by Jon Watts. Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, and Jacob Batalon will also all be returning. The movie is currently set to be released on December 17th, 2021.
