Daniel Craig Is Reportedly Being Offered $150 Million to Come Back as James Bond
There's been a lot of rumors and talk that Daniel Craig will not be coming back to reprise his role of James Bond in any upcoming films. After saying he'd rather slit his wrists than come back to play Bond again, I didn't think there was a chance of him ever coming back.
The question is... Can he resist a $150 million dollar payday to reprise his role for two more films? Radar Online has inside sources that claim that is the amount of money Sony Pictures is offering him to come back to the franchise. The source explains:
“The studio is desperate to secure the actor’s services while they phase in a younger long-term successor."
Personally, I'd say taking $150 million to star in two more films would be so much better than slitting your wrists, but that's just me.
The source goes on to say, "Craig has played a genius hand. Everyone knows how much executives adore him, and the idea of losing him at such a crucial time in the franchise isn’t an option as far as all the studio honchos are concerned."
The source continues:
"Daniel’s the key for a seamless, safe transition as far as Sony and Bond bosses are concerned, and they’re prepared to pay a king’s ransom to make it happen.”
The question is, does Craig want to return to a franchise that he obviously isn't excited about anymore? Will the dump truck full of money change his mind? Only time will tell, but apparently, Sony will be making a big announcement any day now regarding the franchise.
The rumored plan is that Sony will make two more James Bond films back to back that they hope Craig will star in, and after that, they will pass the baton to a new actor who will "mark the start of a new era."
I'd love to see Craig come back, but if he doesn't, I'd be fine with that. I think the franchise could use a fresh new face as Bond anyway.
What do you think? Should Craig take the $150 million?
