Daniel Craig Says He Never Dreamed of Playing James Bond as a Kid, But Tells Fans Who He Always Hoped to Play

Daniel Craig has filmed his final movie in the role of James Bond, the famed agent 007 who has been portrayed by some of the most distinguished men in the past several decades. Bond is brilliant and smooth, handsome and brave, and pretty much the guy that men want to be and women want to be with. But while Craig has done an incredible job in the role, he says it was never his dream gig.

In a recent interview with Yahoo! Movies, Craig said of the role:

“People are always saying to me, ‘You must have dreamed of playing James Bond when you were a kid.’ The answer is no. I never did.”

Instead, he had dreams of playing the parts that are more typical for little boys:

“I dreamed of being all sorts of other things – Superman, Spider-Man, the Invisible Man, even a good old-fashioned cowboy. But Bond so much, which seems ironic now.”

I think it’s more men that dream of being a secret agent. Kids want to wear costumes and fight bad guys. So this doesn’t come at a huge surprise. Pretty funny though. I think Craig has unfortunately missed the boat on the superhero front, but at least he did get to play a cowboy in the 2011 movie Cowboys & Aliens!

Craig’s final Bond film, No Time To Die, has been pushed back to release on November 25, 2020, but as with everything in the world right now, things are a little up in the air. Hopefully we will get to see it soon.
