Daniel Cudmore Won't Return to Play Colossus in DEADPOOL
Actor Daniel Cudmore has portrayed the mutant Colossus in X2, X-Men 3: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past. But it looks like his time as the metallic Russian is at an end, because he's taken to Twitter to reveal that he won't be reprising his role in the upcoming Deadpool film. We learned last week that Colossus would be a part of the movie, but this confirms that the part will be recast.
I hate to say it, but Cudmore has basically been a non-factor for me in these movies. Colossus was never given a large enough role in the story for him to make much of an impact, and it's a bummer that he wasn't really given a shot to truly make that character his own. But fans of the character should be pleased that Colossus is being given a seemingly significant part in Deadpool opposite Ryan Reynolds, so we'll have to see who director Tim Miller ends up choosing to play the hulking mutant this time. Any suggestions?
