Daniel Radcliffe Says His Weird Al Movie Is "One of the Most Fun Jobs" He's Ever Done
I couldn’t be more hyped about Daniel Radcliffe taking on the role of Weird Al Yankovic in the upcoming film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. It just seems like such perfect casting, and according to Radcliffe, he had a blast making the movie. In fact, he says it was one of the most fun jobs he’s ever had.
During a recent interview with Good Morning America the actor said, "We just finished filming not that long ago. It was honestly one of the most fun jobs I've ever done. If you can't have fun making the Weird Al movie, what are you doing with your life? I'm really excited for people to see it. It's going to be a while, still."
He went on to talk about working with Yanckovich on the film, saying, "He's the best. I know everyone says this about him, but it's so lovely to meet somebody that you look up to and you know as a hero to so many people, and to have them just be kind and fun and sweet. I can now go to my grave saying that I've had accordion lessons with Weird Al."
The biopic holds nothing back, “exploring every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like ‘Eat It’ and ‘Like a Surgeon’ to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story takes audiences on a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time.”
The project is being produced by Funny Or Die and Tango. Yankovic is involved with the project as well, and he even co-wrote the script with Eric Appel, who is also set to direct. Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld, Phoenix Rising) also stars in the film and is taking on the role of Madonna.
