Danielle Deadwyler Hired to Star in J.J. Abrams' HBO Drama Series DEMIMONDE
Danielle Deadwyler (Watchmen, Station Eleven) has signed on to star in the upcoming HBO series, Demimonde, that is being created by J.J. Abrams (Alias, Lost). Demimonde is Abrams’ first TV series since Fringe, and he is serving as creator, writer, director, and exec producer.
The series “follows what happens after a woman is torn away from her husband and daughter in a brutal scientific accident as she is forced to unravel a conspiracy to reunite with her family that has been lost to a dark, distant other world.” Deadwyler will star as Olive Reed, the woman at the center of the drama.
Demimonde was picked up by HBO back in 2018, and is finally getting off the ground. Deadwyler will be seen next as Mamie Till in MGM/Orion Pictures’ feature Till, and has a Netflix limited series titled From Scratch in the works.
