DAREDEVIL and JESSICA JONES Won't Get New Episodes Until 2018
With Luke Cage premiering in late September, and Iron Fist and The Defenders slated for 2017, someone had to take a hit. Entertainment Weekly reports that while we will be getting a TON of new Marvel stuff on Netflix in the coming year, there will be no new Jessica Jones or Daredevil episodes until 2018.
Marvel/Netflix sked: Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Defenders THEN 2nd and 3rd seasons of the other shows and Punisher.

Both characters, of course, will be featured in The Defenders, which will likely lead into their storylines into their respective seasons.
So where exactly does this say Jessica Jones and Daredevil will appear in 2018? It doesn't, but Netflix announced long ago that they were limiting Marvel to two seasons a year for their shows. With Iron Fist and The Defenders for sure happening in 2017...well, you get the picture.
I'm not too sure how I feel about this. While I am glad that Marvel is giving an equal respect to all of their new series, it sucks that a show with a freshman success like Jessica Jones will have to wait two years before we get a follow up to a great season.
Part of me wonders if, eventually, Marvel will have to loosen the reigns and allow for some shows to shoot simultaneously and trust more people to take control of their Netflix franchises. While I do want more episodes of everything Marvel, I suppose I should be thankful that they are going with the "Quality over Quantity" approach when it comes to their franchises.
