DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 2 Promo Teases Swordsman Return and an All-Out War for Hell’s Kitchen
A new promo for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has dropped, and it offers another intense glimpse at the chaos brewing in Hell’s Kitchen. The footage expands on the growing conflict between Daredevil and Mayor Wilson Fisk while also spotlighting the return of a surprising street-level ally, the Swordsman.
The clip features fresh action from the upcoming season and puts Tony Dalton back in the spotlight as Jacques “Jack” Duquesne. Fans first met the character in Hawkeye, where Jack’s charming exterior masked some questionable hobbies. In Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again, things escalated when he started operating as a vigilante.
Unfortunately for him, crossing Fisk didn’t end well. By the end of the first season, Jack found himself locked inside the Kingpin’s improvised prison, a place built to hold vigilantes and enemies of the mayor. The new footage hints that his story isn’t finished yet. In fact, it looks like he might be part of a violent breakout.
One moment in the promo shows Swordsman battling members of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. The scene appears to take place during an escape attempt, possibly tied to Frank Castle’s post-credits prison break.
Whether the Punisher actually freed everyone or if Jack had to fight his way out remains unclear, but the footage definitely shows him taking on Fisk’s forces head-on.
Dalton previously talked about just how brutal filming those sequences turned out to be.
"I did a bunch of action stuff for this next one that's coming out of Daredevil, and man, I got hurt. I got hurt hard. I think I must have chipped a rib or something because for two or three weeks I was in bed. I had bruises all over me."
"It was hard, man. Those guys go hard. The action sequences on those, they say, 'We're right on your face, so it's you, you jump there, hit that guy, and he punches you in the face with a tube.' It's like, 'Okay, let's go!' [Laughs]" he continued. "That's gonna come out, and it's gonna be a lot of fun. It's going to be really good fun."
Elsewhere in the promo, the focus shifts back to Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock as he rallies allies and prepares for a full-scale fight against Fisk’s grip on New York City.
The conflict between Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk has escalated to something much bigger than personal revenge. Fisk now controls the city as mayor and is openly hunting the vigilante who refuses to disappear.
Season 2 looks like it’s pushing the story toward a street-level uprising, with Daredevil leading the charge to reclaim Hell’s Kitchen from Fisk’s expanding empire.
Deborah Ann Woll returns as Karen Page, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter, and Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn. The new season also delivers a long-awaited MCU return as Krysten Ritter reprises her role as Jessica Jones. Matthew Lillard joins the cast as the mysterious Mr. Charles.
In Daredevil: Born Again, survival, resistance and redemption collide as the battle for the soul of New York begins. In Season 2, Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil.
But beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down the Kingpin’s corrupt empire and redeem his home. Resist. Rebel. Rebuild.
Created by Dario Scardapane, Chris Ord, and Matt Corman, Daredevil: Born Again returns to Disney+ on March 24.
