DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 2 Reportedly to Feature Matt Murdock Assembling His Own Team
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again is currently in production, and a new rumor suggests that Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) will be putting together his own team to combat a growing threat in New York City, one spearheaded by Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio).
If you’ve been keeping up with the series, you know that Fisk, now Mayor of New York, is doubling down on his war against costumed vigilantes. There’s even speculation that he orchestrated the murder of Hector Ayala in Episode 3.
As for what’s coming, Fisk will reportedly assemble an anti-vigilante task force to take his crusade to the next level.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, Season 2 will “focus on [Matt Murdock] recruiting a team to take on Fisk’s anti-vigilante task force.”
The big question now is: Who will fight alongside Daredevil? While The Defenders once fought together, it’s unlikely we’ll see the exact same lineup of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist reform.
However, at least one former Defender is rumored to appear. Beyond that, the possibilities are wide open. Elektra, Misty Knight, and Colleen Wing are strong contenders, but this could also be Marvel’s chance to introduce new street-level heroes who haven’t made their live-action debut yet, which would be really cool!
If this rumor proves true, we will see the Man Without Fear leading the charge of a team to against a full-scale crackdown on vigilantes. That could be a lot of fun to see, and it will be interesting to see what other characters Marvel will introduce.
