DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 2 Will Catch Us Up With Jessica Jones and Teases Some "Very Cool Surprises"

Jessica Jones is officially stepping back into the spotlight, and Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will fill in the missing years since we last saw the hard-drinking private investigator and reveal what she’s been up to since her Netflix days ended.

It’s been a long road for fans of Jessica Jones. The character last appeared in Jessica Jones Season 3, followed by her role in The Defenders. Now, season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again is set to bridge that gap, which is pretty cool.

Marvel’s head of streaming, television, and animation Brad Winderbaum recently talked about what makes this return so fun during an appearance on The Official Marvel Podcast.

"What's really fun about that character is the time jump from the last time we saw her. It's been a while," Winderbaum said. "So, we're re-establishing this character and catching the audience up to what the hell she's been up to, and that is filled with a lot of very cool surprises."

That time jump opens the door for the show to explore how Jessica has changed and how the MCU itself has evolved around her. Season 2 isn’t just about fan service. It’s about making her feel fully integrated into Marvel’s current storytelling landscape, while still honoring what made her such a standout character in the first place.

Krysten Ritter, who’s once again suiting up as the super-powered detective, has also shared her excitement about returning to the role. Speaking last year, Ritter made it clear this isn’t a quick cameo or a nostalgic victory lap.

"It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU. I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

While Jessica Jones will play a role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, fans hoping for a full street-level reunion should temper expectations slightly. One familiar face who won’t be showing up is Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.

Instead, Frank Castle is getting his own TV special and will also appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which hits theaters later this year on July 31.

Marvel’s release schedule isn’t slowing down either. Before Daredevil: Born Again returns, the next Disney+ series on deck is Wonder Man, which begins streaming on January 27.

For fans who’ve been waiting years to see Jessica Jones again, Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again sounds like it’s ready to answer some big questions, shake things up, and deliver a few surprises along the way.
