DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Star Charlie Cox Reveals Whether He Thinks Daredevil Would Join The New Avengers If Invited
The Avengers were a very elite group of superheroes who made sacrifices and nobly went out on their terms, fighting the universe’s greatest foes. One retired, and some are still around, but since the group fractured, things have looked different in the MCU.
At the end of Thunderbolts*, we were introduced to The New Avengers, lead by Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, U.S. Agent, Red Guardian, Ghost, and Bob aka The Sentry. They are a scrappier, more damaged group, but they have a lot of heart.
Meanwhile, fans have been able to catch up with masked vigilante Daredevil in his series Daredevil: Born Again, and the actor who brings him to life, Charlie Cox, was asked if he would consider joining this ragtag crew. Daredevil is a notorious loner when he’s not in his personal life as lawyer and friend, Matt Murdock. But could this group of Avengers entice him?
Cox recently appeared at GalaxyCon New Orleans (via CBM) and was asked by a fan how he would feel about the Man Without Fear joining the ranks of the New Avengers team. The actor responded, "That’s so funny. That’s a really good question. I think Matt Murdock would kind of think about it."
Cox, however, hedged his bets by adding, "He’s a lone wolf; he likes to work by himself. He’s a reluctant kind of team-up guy, I think. A bit like Frank Castle is. [I] would be absolutely thrilled. I would be chomping at the bit to do that."
Cox has expressed interest in appearing in an Avengers movie on several occasions, and while he has not appeared on the role call for Avengers: Doomsday yet, we know we haven’t seen the entire cast list, and it would make sense that he join in the next big fight. We will just have to wait and see.
