DAREDEVIL Writer Drew Goddard Brought in to Help Write DEADPOOL 2
Looks like Deadpool 2 will be getting a little help in the script writing and story development process from Drew Goddard. According to Collider, he's been brought in as a consultant to help original screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick craft the sequel.
Don't worry! Goddard isn't replacing anyone, he's now just part of the team, and he'll make a great addition to it! When the news first broke, it was made to sound like Goddard was replacing Reese and Wernick, and when fans started to express their concerns online, Ryan Reynolds set the record straight saying:
"Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick are still very much writing the screenplay. They're the heartbeat of the whole operation."
I think it's great that they brought Goddard on board! The guy definitely has talent. He directed Cabin in the Woods and co-wrote the script with Joss Whedon, he wrote and produced Marvel's Daredevil Netflix series, and wrote Ridley Scott's The Martian and Cloverfield for Matt Reeves. He was also set to direct Sinister Six for Sony before the studio rebooted the Spider-Man franchise with Marvel.
Deadpool 2 is in great hands, and I have no doubt that this team of talent will give us an awesome and hilarious action-packed blood-filled adventure with the Marc with a Mouth and Cable.
