Dark and Delightful Trailer for Comedic Murder Mystery Podcast Series BODKIN Based on a True Story
Netflix has released a great full trailer for the comedy series Bodkin, which follows a true crime murder mystery podcast in Ireland. The dark comedy thriller stars Siobhán Cullen as Dove, Robyn Cara as Emmy, Chris Walley as Sean O’Shea, David Wilmot as Seamus, and Will Forte as Gilbert.
The series is created, written and showrun by Jez Scharf, making his first series after numerous short films previously. It's also co-showrun by Alex Metcalf. Featuring episodes directed by Nash Edgerton, Bronwen Hughes, Johnny Allan, and Paddy Breathnach, the series is executive produced by David Flynn, Paul Lee, Nne Ebong, Tonia Davis, Barack & Michelle Obama, Tonia Davis, Nash Edgerton, Alex Metcalf, and Jez Scharf.
The synopsis reads:
“Bodkin is a dark comedic thriller about a motley crew of podcasters (Will Forte, Siobhán Cullen, Robyn Cara) who set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in a quaint, coastal Irish town. Once they start pulling at threads, they discover a story much bigger and weirder than they could have ever imagined. As our heroes try to discern fact from fiction — about the case, about their colleagues, and, most painfully, themselves — the series challenges our perception of truth and exposes the stories we tell ourselves to justify our beliefs or validate our fears.”
This looks like a great series. The story is right up my alley, and I love the country of Ireland, so I look forward to checking it out. Netflix will debut the first season of Bodkin on Netflix on May 9th, 2024. Check out the trailer below:
