Dark and Disturbing Trailer for HBO's Series Adaptation of Stephen King's THE OUTSIDER
Stephen King’s dark and disturbing story The Outsider has been adapted into a ten-episode series thanks to HBO, and we have a new trailer for the series for you to watch today. This is seriously one hell of a messed up and intriguing story, and the series looks like it’s going to be a solid adaptation.
The story follows police detective Ralph Anderson (Mendelsohn), “as he sets out to investigate the mutilated body of 11-year-old Frankie Peterson found in the Georgia woods. The mysterious circumstances surrounding this horrifying crime leads Ralph, still grieving the recent death of his own son, to bring in unorthodox private investigator Holly Gibney (Erivo), whose uncanny abilities he hopes will help explain the unexplainable.” While this is going on, another man (Bateman) is arrested for the murder, and he claims he’s innocent.
If you thought the scene in King’s Doctor Sleep of the Baseball Boy being murdered was bad and hard to stomach, the murder of young Frederick Peterson in The Outsider is insanely brutal.
The Outsider has an incredible cast of actors that includes Ben Mendelsohn, Jason Bateman, Cynthia Erivo, Bill Camp, Mare Winningham, Paddy Considine, Julianne Nicholson, Yul Vázquez, Jeremy Bobb, and Marc Menchaca.
The Outsider premieres on HBO on January 12th, 2020. This is a series that I’m looking forward to seeing, and I can’t wait to see it!
