Dark Horse Books, CRITICAL ROLE, and Amazon Team Up To Bring New THE LEGEND OF VOX MACHINA Prequel Book Series

Critical Role has enjoyed huge success for their live play of Dungeons & Dragons. The group of nerdy voice actor friends have been through many adventures together and although they are currently playing a third round of characters, the characters from their first campaign remain incredibly popular. Popular enough that the animated series based on Vox Machina has been streaming its second season through Amazon. But if you are a fan and have been wondering what happened in Whitestone before Vox Machina  arrived, Dark Horse Books has a new series for you. The Legend of Vox Machina: Whitestone Chronicles. This will be a series of interconnected stories written by Marieke Nijkamp in collaboration with the cast of Critical Role and will include art by Tyler Walpole. 

The first book in the series, The Legend of Vox Machina: Whitestone Chronicles - Ripley, will focus on Dr. Anna Ripley and the choices she makes after the de Rolo family was viciously overthrown by the Briarwoods. We don’t get a lot of information about Ripley from the animated series, so it will be interesting for those of us who haven’t finished watching the entirety of campaign one to learn more about her. There is currently a digital sampler available on The Legend of Vox Machina Amazon Storefront, Dark Horse Digital, and other digital reading platforms. The book is set to release in 2024 with more information coming later this year.
