Dave Bautista Talks About the Two DC Characters He Wishes He Could Have Played and Says He's Now "Up for Anything"
Dave Bautista got his big break playing Drax in the MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, which wrapped last year.
He developed a close bond with the director of the films, James Gunn, who has moved on up to lead the charge over at DC, and as we all know, Gunn likes to work with actors from his previous projects, so fans have wondered where we will see some of the Guardians pop up again in the future.
As for Bautista’s preference, he talked about his DC favorites in a recent interview with ScreenRant, where he explained:
"When I was younger, I wanted to play Bane; it was like a dream role for me. And I got to a point in my career where I just felt like I was just too old to play Bane.
I think the physicality of it, at this point in my career and my life, I just wouldn't be able to do the character justice. And then I saw somewhere online that someone posted something of me playing Lex Luthor; an older Lex Luthor.
I kind of became obsessed with that idea. Obviously, they moved on from that idea, so at this point, I'm struggling to find my place in the DC universe. But I'd really be up for anything."
We will just have to wait and see where he ends up. Are there any DC characters you’d like to see Bautista take on?
