Dave Bautista's Family Action Comedy MY SPY Picked Up by Amazon Prime

Amazon Studios bought the rights for Dave Bautista’s family action-comedy My Spy from STX and MWM. They now own the exclusive streaming rights on Amazon Prime.

So, it seems like this movie won’t end up in theaters as expected. Seeing this kind of thing shouldn’t be surprising for anyone during these times. A few studios have decided to release films early on digital and on streaming because the movie theaters have shut down. There’s no word on when the film will debut on Amazon Prime.

My Spy was originally supposed to be released on March 6th. It was then moved to April 17th after movie theaters started shutting down. Now that it’s in the hands of Amazon, we’ll have to wait to see when it will debut on their streaming service.

The film follows a hardened CIA operative (Bautista) “who finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl (Chloe Coleman), having been sent undercover to surveil her family.”

The film is being directed by Peter Segal (Get Smart, Fifty First Dates) from a script written by Jon and Erich Hoeber (Red, Battleship,The Meg).
