David Ayer Shares First Makeup Tests of Harley Quinn and Joker Before Shooting SUICIDE SQUAD
David Ayer was the director behind the 2016 film Suicide Squad. The fan and critic reviews for the film were less than stellar, even though the film made a good amount of money. Since that movie, one of its stars, Margot Robbie, who played Harley Quinn, has spun-off into a Harley Quinn-centered “girl gang” film, Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which we sill see in theaters on February 7, 2020, and the franchise is getting a reboot with The Suicide Squad , which is also bringing back Robbie for the same role, which we will see on August 6, 2021.
I didn’t hate the 2016 Suicide Squad, I just thought it was a classic case of too much story. They didn’t spend enough time on character development or storyline, so it felt rushed. The cast was good, and I liked a lot of elements of the film, but it just had some issues. The cool part about it is that it seemed to bust open the doors for the franchise, and now we are getting some cool-looking films coming up.
In some recent tweets, Ayer shared some test photos of Harley Quinn and Joker as well as a cool shot of Deadshot’s first 3D printed helmet from the film. Check out the photos below, and let us know, now that the dust has settled, did you find any redeeming qualities in Suicide Squad?
