David Ayer's GOTHAM CITY SIRENS Movie Has Reportedly Been Dropped
We've got some more news regarding Warner Bros. DC film slate. It has certainly been an interesting week for the DC movie news. Yesterday we reported that the upcoming Joker and Harley Quinn movie would be directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (This is Us, Crazy Stupid Love) and that Jared Leto and Margot Robbie would reprise their roles as The Joker and Harley Quinn.
The Tracking Board is reporting an interesting bit of news that the studio has dropped David Ayer's Gotham City Sirens in favor of this Joker and Harley Quinn movie. I have no idea if this is true or not, but the source who delivered the info has a reliable past when it comes to information like this.
So it seems as if Warner Bros. and David Ayer may have parted ways. Maybe it had something to do with the comments he made at Comic-Con this summer. You may remember that he took a shot at Suicide Squad when talking about his new Netflix film Bright. He said:
"This movie is about LA, but a fucked up LA, but our world is fucked up. This isn't some bullshit, produced PG-13 shit movie, I was able to do my thing."
It's pretty clear that the bullshit PG-13 produced shit he's talking about is Suicide Squad. Who knows, though! Maybe the intel isn't right and Gotham City Sirens is still in development. We'll just have to wait and see.
