David Corenswet Chooses STAR WARS Over SUPERMAN 2 While Taking a Lie Detector Test
David Corenswet might be the new face of Superman in James Gunn’s DCU, but if the Force called, he’d be ready to trade in the cape for a lightsaber.
During a Vanity Fair lie detector test interview with his Superman co-star Nicholas Hoult, Corenswet was put on the spot with a tough choice: Would he rather play Superman again in a sequel… or take on the role of a Jedi Knight in Star Wars?
He didn’t hesitate for long.
With a deep breath and a sheepish grin, Corenswet chose Jedi Knight. Hoult’s reaction? Pure shock.
But before the DC fandom gets too worked up, Corenswet made it clear that he’s still locked in as the Man of Steel for future films.
“In the end, as many things do, it came down to the money. I’m already under contract for a sequel, but I’d be fresh negotiating with Star Wars,” he joked.
That’s not the only time Corenswet’s Star Wars fandom has shown through. He’s been openly enthusiastic about the galaxy far, far away during the Superman press tour, even revealing a personal tradition: “I just started a Star Wars marathon every New Year’s Eve,” he said in the same interview.
So while a Superman 2 is likely already in the cards, and in his contract, it’s clear Corenswet has a deep affection for both iconic franchises. Can you blame him? He’s living every geek’s dream right now!
